Kamikoto Knife Review
Kamikoto - Quality Knives, Reasonable Price, Great Customer Satisfaction. When I bought ny first set Kamikoto was an unknown brand to me but their video adds convinced me to give them a try. After discussing their knives with a number of professional chief friends. I placed my first order for a 3 knife set and i couldn't be happier with their. Kamikoto Knives are no exception. And thus, we were excited to finally get a review sample to try out. We’ve reviewed many high-end chef knives and Kamikoto easily stands out in terms of presentation. The gorgeous presentation makes the Kamikoto knife set an ideal gift, a luxury one at that.
Jim, I have all the knives I NEED, but, as with shaving gear, need has nothing to do with it. I currently have a mix of Chicago Cutlery and Henckels (yeah, I know, don't even mention those paltry, low class knives here) Nothing I really need, but maybe a 10' slicer and something along the lines of a chef's knife, Japanese style for both.
These are something I will be looking into in the next few months, maybe as a wedding present for my Grand Niece, have to find out if she even cooks. Suggestions ate welcome. Click to expand.I have the 7-inch Santoku knife as well as the Kanpeki three knife set. They were gifts from my son and I’m quite sure he did not pay the full listed prices. They are single bevel knives and that feature introduces some sharpening nuances that one needs to learn.
I’m still trying to learn why I need to hone the larger bevel that is apparent on these knives. Also, if an angle of around 12 to 15 degrees is proper for a two bevel knife, would a bevel of 25 or 30 degrees be right for this model. It’s all a mystery to me. There are a few uTube videos on sharpening single bevel knives but they seem to lack explains some of these details. Yet, they seem to be good knives with good steel.
