Fourth of July weekend we stayed in the portion furthest from the office upstairs. It was noisy due to the nearby fireworks and the motel being full. I could hear people outside and next door. But, my main complaint was the bed! It was terrible!!! I can't even imagine how old it is. It felt so cheap and bouncy.
The combination of the noise and uncomfortable bed makes getting a good night's sleep very difficult. When we first got here, we just put our luggage in the room and went to the hospital to see my mother in law. After we went back to get ready for bed, I went in to shower and looked at the shower head and it was literally covered with MOLD! I called the front desk to see if they had bleach, and she said no, but would look around and see what they had. Waiting for her to call back, we found a drawer full of condiments, hair in the bathtub, toilet seat was looseand scuffed up and needed to be replaced and the baseboards in the bathroom was just filthy (which I showed the housekeeper the following morning. She said it was between the grout and I showed her it did come up).
The lady at the front desk gave me a bottle of 409 and a roll of paper towels when I went to see what. This is your only option in Jena, but it's a good one! The staff is friendly and the room is very clean! I did find a hair on my towel, but it's a single hair. It's an old motel, so don't expect luxury. There were several oil field workers there when I stayed and they leave early in the morning, I could hear them getting in their trucks.
The walls are very thin. I could hear someone snoring in the room next to me. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

They don't have breakfast, but Sonic and McDonald's are right next door. Jena is such a quaint southern country town! This is your only option in Jena, as everyone has mentioned. It is extremely basic. But, If you're not very high maintenance and your only requirements are that your room is clean and safe, this is going to be the hotel for you! It was spacious and perfectly adequate for my four night stay.
There are several food options nearby and while I was at first concerned with the outdoor facing doors as a women traveling alone, once I got there I realized how perfectly safe it is. The entire town of Jena is charming and southern and this hotel was perfect for my stay. PS- there is a running trail RIGHT around the corner from the hotel!
Very nice option and its also very safe. None of the restaurants serve alcohol, but there is a great liquor store on one of the nearby reservations.
